For most of their lives, Ebilio Zunia (45) and María López (47) have worked as day laborers on private farms while facing the many challenges of life. Both had previous marriages, and although they no longer live with their children—Ebilio has five and María four—they feel a deep responsibility to continue supporting them financially.
They currently live in a small home in Buenos Aires and own a small coffee plot, but production is low because they lack the capital to maintain it. Their income barely covers some of the household expenses.
With Agros International’s return to Honduras, Ebilio and María see a new opportunity on the horizon. They dream of “having a mesh greenhouse where we can grow vegetables, access financing, receive technical assistance, and connect to good markets—so we can earn enough to improve our home.”
Thanks to the project, this family will be able to transform their daily labor into sustainable income, a dignified home, and a future filled with opportunity.
Thanks to the Agros International project, they will soon receive additional land, mesh greenhouses, and agricultural technology—along with training to cultivate high-value vegetables. This opportunity means much more than producing food: it represents breaking the cycle of poverty, generating sustainable income, and transforming the lives of their daughters and generations to come.
With your support, families like the Zunia López can turn years of hard work into hope, dignity, and a better future.
