An Evening of Celebrating + Building Agros Families' Legacies

On Friday, October 6, 200 guests joined Agros staff and Board of Directors at Fremont Studios for an evening of celebration, music, storytelling, and reflection.

We extend a massive thank you to the generous Agros community who raised over $735,000!!!

At the event, $700k was raised, but Tierras de Vida donations continued to come in after the event.

Tierras de Vida has been the flagship fundraising event for Agros annually, with many guests having attended since the beginning of the event. We welcomed familiar and new faces alike.

The keynote talk was a conversation between the Vice President of Programs, Joel Martinez Duron, and longtime Agros supporter and current employee, David Carlson.

Joel shared, “I have a beautiful privilege. I see so much goodness in the communities, in the staff, in you who are here today, and have been part of the work that the Lord has done through Agros… What we do at Agros is more than a job, it is a call to serve. It is a responsibility we have, to bring hope and opportunity to the poor.”

Watch their entire moving conversation here.

The creative portion of the evening took guests on a three-part storytelling adventure following the lives of Agros partners through the lens of ‘Land.’ ‘Hope.’ and ‘Life.’ This vision has guided Agros work for many decades. Whether through stewardship, cultivation, or environmental sustainability, our work with land is at the forefront of everything we do as stewards of the earth.

You can watch the three videos here:

Agros president, Alberto Solano shared why Hope is foundational to our mission and not just a feeling, but a driving force AND an outcome of this work. Agros families are on a journey out of poverty into prosperity, but they are also given hope for the future! You can watch his whole address on YouTube.

“At its core Agros is about poverty eradication, helping families build sustainable livelihoods and create opportunities for entrepreneurship… At Agros… families leaving poverty is not enough, that is just the beginning, here families reach lasting prosperity.”

So, what are his ingredients for hope?

Ingredient 1: Deep Investment in Opportunity

We understand that hope begins with opportunity. We believe in investing in the potential of every family we work with. And opportunity starts with something as fundamental as land ownership.

Ingredient 2: Belief in a Positive Outcome

Hope flourishes when we believe in a brighter future. When a family arrives in an Agros village the hardships they experienced are left behind, they start to dream big for the first time in their lives.

Ingredient 3: Faith and Reliance in God

In our journey of hope, we carry deep faith and reliance in God. We know that true transformation requires more than material support; it calls for spiritual and emotional uplifting.

Ingredient 4: Unrelenting Hard Work

Hope doesn’t come without effort. The families we work with invest their sweat and tears into turning opportunities into reality. They learn financial management, gain business skills, and build better lives for themselves and their children.

Ingredient 5: Our Donors, a Force for Positive Change

You, our donors. You are the driving force behind our mission. Your generosity and support enable us to empower families and communities, providing them with the tools and resources they need to be prosperous.

Yes, YOU are the catalyst for this impact, the support for this prosperity, and we thank God for your decision to join us in giving families HOPE!

We are so grateful for you, the Agros familia who continue to rally around families lifting them up with hope, love, support, and prayer.

We’ll see you next year! Keep in touch.
