Agros

2021 | A Year of Resilience

Agros families are experiencing a level of change in their communities that dramatically contrasts with the difficulties many Central American families are experiencing.

Agros International’s 2021 Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the organization’s work to empower impoverished communities in Central America. The report highlights the impact of Agros International’s programs and initiatives over the past year, and provides a detailed look at the organization’s goals and plans for the future.

One of the key areas of focus for Agros International is land. We recognize that access to land and stewardship of that land is essential for families to build sustainable livelihoods and break the cycle of poverty.

In 2021, Agros International helped 125 families in Central America to purchase land, bringing the total number of families supported in this way to over 2,100 families, or 21,000+ lives since the organization was founded.

This work is crucial, providing families with a sense of empowerment, stability and security, helping them to build a foundation and a hope for their future.

In addition to land ownership, a focus on housing. We know that safe and healthy housing is essential for families to thrive. In 2021, Agros International provided home improvements and repairs for 52 families in Central America, and helped 33 families to build new homes. This work is important, as it helps families to create a safe and secure living environment, which is essential for their overall well-being.

Another area of focus for Agros International is education and training. Families need access to resources and support to develop the skills and knowledge they have in order to break the cycle of poverty. In 2021, we provided training in sustainable farming practices, financial management, and other key skills to over 1,400 individuals in Central America. This work helps families to develop sustainable practices that promote environmental conservation and protect natural resources, in addition to improving the health and well-being of their families.

Agros is also committed to sustainability. The organization recognizes that sustainable farming and business practices are essential for the long-term success of families and communities. In 2021, Agros supported over 800 families in Central America to implement sustainable farming practices, including the use of organic fertilizers and crop diversification. This work is important, as it helps to create a more sustainable future for families and communities in the region.

Looking ahead, Agros International is committed to continuing and expanding our work to empower impoverished communities throughout  Central America. We have set ambitious goals for the near future, including supporting an additional 1,000 families in land ownership, helping 60 families to build new homes, and providing training and resources to over 1,500 individuals. Our commitment to sustainable development and community empowerment is working to make a positive impact in the world, following in the path of the gospel of Jesus.

“Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received”

1 Peter 4:10
