Agros

Pursuing Academic Dreams

Cindi was born into a coffee farming family in the small village of Bella Vista in Honduras. Life was hard, and getting an education was even harder due to the distance she had to walk.

But thanks to Agros, her family walked the path to prosperity and because they were lifted from poverty, Cindi could pursue her academic dreams.

This past March, Cindi became the first college graduate of her community!

At a very young age, while attending the school in her village built by Agros, Cindi realized that education was the key to achieving her dreams. However, after graduating high school, Cindi was not sure she could afford to go to college. She had to leave the small community she had lived in her entire life, and her parents could not afford to pay for her tuition.
“When it was my turn to go to college, it was very difficult because I had to leave everyone I knew. But seeing my parents succeed, with the help of Agros, gave me confidence! At the university, Agros gave me financial assistance to keep me in school and focused.”

Support for Cindi allowed her to stay in school and graduate! And now that she has graduated, Cindi says she wants to continue her education and use her story to motivate other young people to pursue higher education.

This is what it looks like to be the catalyst for change and giving to a cause to provide generational opportunities in the lives of so many!
