Christmas in Central America

Over the last week, we’ve been able to celebrate Christmas early with many of the Agros families in Central America thanks to the hard-working Agros staff who helped plan the festivities.

Last Friday, we inaugurated the new Health Clinic in the village of Asich, in the Ixil region of Guatemala.

Along with the inauguration of the clinic, we celebrated the first ever formal Christmas celebration with the whole community. The Agros staff hired a beautiful Santa Claus-dressed clown. It was her first time ever celebrating a party in the municipality of Cotzal. It was also the first time the children in the village had ever seen anyone dressed like Santa Claus! The children received face paintings and  Christmas gifts were handed out. This celebration was all thanks to you, our Agros familia.

In the video, you’ll see a child whose first time it was to have a Christmas celebration and even to open a wrapped gift.

In Nicaragua, in the villages of San Jose and Nueva San Jose, families came together to celebrate and open gifts, with children running around so excited to have their face painted.

We are so grateful for the staff who set up these celebrations in Guatemala and Nicaragua to celebrate the season with our families and support them in new ways! We are so grateful to share special moments with the families as they are on this journey in life.
