I joined at Agros International in September 2015. I finished my accounting bachelor degree in Peru (where I’m originally from) and after completing a CPA degree I decided to live in a country where I can speak English all the time! I moved to Sydney, Australia in 2008 and lived there for over 7 years. I worked for a couple of major for-profit organizations and at the end of 2014 I completed my second CPA in Australia. I moved to Seattle at the end of the summer of 2015 and soon found the opportunity to work at this great organization!
What I like the most about working at Agros is the Agros community, it feels like being in a family. People are very caring and welcoming. Most important we all have a great and profound reason to work, which is to help those who need more! This was my main motivation to change my corporate career to a nonprofit organization. I feel that I can contribute with my experience and knowledge for a great purpose!
The other important reason that I feel very close with Agros is that I feel blessed to make a contribution for Latin people like myself! My grandparents had had a similar life situation that many Agros rural communities are having today. I do believe that giving them opportunities can change future generations!
I am still in the process of adapting to this new Seattle world and my spare time is spent creating my new life here in the USA! I enjoy traveling and having great food! I like reading great books! And I love to dance to Latin music!
