"We were tired of doing one thing at a time," said Bill Davis, Senior Pastor at Greenwood Christian Church. This frustration with fragmented efforts at combating poverty led Bill to Agros, where he found a holistic vision for providing families with the tools and opportunities to pull themselves out of poverty. Greenwood's six year partnership with the Agros village of San Jose, Nicaragua, has transformed the livelihoods of the 29 families living there -- but, according to Bill, the effects on the hearts and minds of their congregation have been even more profound.

I believe asking people to give is sacred. So when the email receipt for your gift shows up in my inbox, I pause, look at your name, note the gift amount, and do a little skippy dance. I imagine your face. I wonder about your story.
